Coach Nate began training Jiu Jitsu and mixed martial arts in 2008 at the age of 23 in Santa Fe, New Mexico under Tait Fletcher. Nate dedicated his life to the art and sport of Jiu Jitsu, competing in Jiu Jitsu for 10 years as well as having one mma fight and being the second person ever to do Eddie Bravo’s Combat Jiu Jitsu. He moved to Albuquerque and started 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Albuquerque in 2017. Nate would go on to earn his Jiu Jitsu Black Belt from Tait Fletcher and Ruben Rivera in 2022.

Coach Ferg first began training Jiu Jitsu in the outback of Australia in the gi. He spent several years traveling, training, and competing all over the world before settling in Albuquerque and joining 10th Planet Albuquerque.

Coach Donnie’s grappling journey began in the wrestling room in his hometown of Okeechobee, FL. He would grow up wrestling and eventually join the U.S Army, beginning his ametuer mixed martial arts career. Pursuing MMA he then made his way to NM where he would find 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. He heads the 10th Planet Kids program as well as the 10th Planet Beginners program and continues to compete in Jiu-Jitsu.
Carlos Condit

Coach Carlos started wrestling when he was 9 years old and has been in combat sports every since. He made his mma debut in 2002 and went on to become a legend of the sport, becoming the WEC Welterweight Champion and interim UFC Welterweight Champion, and giving fans some of the best fights in mma history before retiring in 2021.

Coach Heather started her martial arts journey with Muay Thai in 2009 then made the transition to Jiu Jitsu in 2015. Coach Heather was an avid competitor for many years and frequently traveled to train and compete in Brazil. She is a very big advocate for women in Jiu Jitsu and heads up 10th Planet Albuquerque’s women’s program along with Coach Lisette.
Joseph Goodman

A former Marine, Coach Joseph has nearly two decades of coaching experience amongst different sports and has a Master’s Degree in Sports Management with a concentration in coaching. Joe’s martial arts journey spanned from starting Okinawa Kenpo at age 11, having his first MMA fight at age 16, and joining 10th Planet at age 29. His Jiu Jitsu focuses on control. Joe actively competes in organizations including High Rollerz and ADCC. He is also an ADCC certified referee.

Coach Lisette started her Jiu Jitsu journey at 10th Planet Albuquerque in 2018 with the goal of being able to protect herself in real life situations. Being an ER nurse during the day, she has had to accomplish that goal and prove the efficacy of Jiu Jitsu in actual scenarios several times. She has just stepped into the role of coach for the first time as she co-leads our Women Only class/program with Coach Heather so that she can pass on to other women the skills and confidence that she has gotten from Jiu Jitsu.
